"One of the things I had to realise when I moved from Sydney up here is generally people in country areas seem to have a higher pain threshold."
The veteran physio described "really badly injured" farmers who treat themselves as a "human forklift" hobbling into ProActive and needing the full service.
"I've had people come in here with broken bones. And they've sort of said - it's not that bad," he said
"And the x-ray comes back and you're like oh my goodness how are you even standing let alone walking!
"So I had to reset my thinking a bit."
The physio and founder of Tamworth's Pro-Active physiotherapy will this weekend celebrate his 21st year of owning the business.
On Saturday, March 14 they will open the doors for a day of education and fun.
Locals who front up can join in a trio of endurance competitions.
Mr Ansell, who is also well known for organising and participating in long-distance endurance races, said the day will run from 9am to midday.
"I'm hoping this weekend we can encourage people to come along, hear some useful discussion and see their way through health issues like pain, incontinence and leg injuries," he said.

In its 21st year Pro-Active has plans to make that easier than ever, adding satellite clinics and classes across the North West.
