There are now two country champions in the Watson household after mother and daughter Kylie and Bianca shared in the golden moment.
"It was pretty special," Kylie said.
"It's a wonderful thing to play with her now that she's older and can play in the open's team."
She had previously represented Tamworth at the championships but Bianca, who turned 17 the day after, was stepping up for her first championships at opens level.
The two did have a few nice moments in the water together. Kylie recounted one instance were Bianca was fouled and she was free, and she passed it off to her.
Unfortunately she wasn't quite able to finish it off on that occasion. She did though score a few goals over the tournament, as did Bianca.
"It was really fun," Kylie said.
The win was a bonus, the side beating Albury 8-6 in the final to turn bronze the last two years into gold.
The two are also playing together in the local ladies competition this season.
"This year we were determined to play together," Kylie said.
"We've played against each other in previous years."

While that has been "a bit of fun", they really wanted to play with each other.
Water polo isn't the only sporting passion the two share either.
Kylie said they are going to try and play soccer together and also share a horse.
Something not every mother is fortunate to experience, she said as well as getting a great enjoyment out of playing alongside Bianca it also motivates her to keep playing.
She added: "It probably works both ways."
"It keeps Bianca motivated to be faster than me in the swimming side of things."
Both come from a swimming background.
Kylie was a state swimmer, discovering up water polo when she was at uni.
"Where we were water polo wasn't a thing," she said.
After moving up to Tamworth from Sydney, she got back involved when Bianca and brother Nathan were toddlers.
Nathan was the first of the two to take up water polo. Bianca was into swimming but eventually followed suit, and hasn't gone back.
The last 12 months have been one of big progression for her.
"I think age and strength has helped in that," Kylie said.
Prior to the country championships she had played for the NSW Country under-18s at the Australian Youth Championships in Brisbane.
"She had a really good time," Kylie said.
"She had full game time just about every single game."
The side didn't figure in the finals but improved throughout the competition.
Despite being one of the youngest in the water on the weekend, Bianca didn't look out of her depth. Tamworth co-captain said she was fantastic for them.
"When she gets her game face on and gets that determination she can stick with them quite well," Kylie said.
