The club will be entering at least two new netball teams into the Tamworth Netball Association for the upcoming season, to go with its men's and women's AFL sides. Both clubs will work side by side and draw from the same resources.
Swans member Hannah McKenzie helped spearhead the expansion and told the Leader she was pleased with the interest it had garnered.
"The idea to try and create a netball team came about while I was doing scoring duties for my old team and I thought why couldn't the Swans field a team?," told the Leader.
"I brought it up with my brother Josh, who is the president of the Swans AFL club, and the idea just rolled on from there.
"The support will go both ways as the AFL players will back the netball players and vice versa, so it should be an exciting season."

The Swans move into the local netball competition follows the code swapping of other clubs including North Companions and Pirates, who are aligned with the Westview Pirates in netball.
"Clubs from other codes expanding into netball isn't new, but as far as I know, we are the first AFL club in the region to do it," McKenzie said.
"Personally, I think it is good to see any local club expanding and looking to branch out into other sectors.
"I think there is certainly scope to see more of it in the future."
McKenzie said a "great deal of planning" needed to be done before the start of the season.
"We know we have enough for the minimum two teams needed to enter the competition, but after that we're not too sure how many players we'll have," she said.
"I'm sure we will know more once registrations and things like that open.
"From there, we will get to work on things like securing sponsors and organising playing uniforms."
