And, the Questacon Science Circus is headed to Tamworth with more than 40 hands-on exhibits that have come all the way from Canberra.
Veterinary scientist Fi Fisher is part of the team that brings the one-off and school shows to town.
"It's great for anybody aged two to 102 and older, there are things to learn but also so much that people can interact with and entertain themselves," she said.
"It gives people the opportunity to see how science can be exciting and engaging and how it applies to their lives."
A public exhibition will be held at Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre with shows every half hour.
Those include DIY science families can do at home, science versus magic, an unexpected show where things aren't always what they seem and the science of fire. The event is on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
