While Monday's temperature didn't get much higher than the predicted 25 degrees, Tamworth residents are set to feel the heat come Wednesday.
The thermometer is predicted to reach 35 degrees on Wednesday and a dip in the pool will be the perfect way to beat the heat.

However, the pools almost didn't reopen for summer.
Tamworth Regional Council's drought management plan says under level 5 restrictions, no pools can be filled, including those owned by TRC - but council decided to temporarily amend the plan.
Nundle will be open from Tuesday and Barraba the following day while the Manilla pool will remain closed for maintenance until November.
Tamworth City Olympic Pool will not open this season due to the drought.
