TWO men who illegally killed a feral pig and trespassed on properties near Narrabri have been convicted.

Dean Michael Phillips, 26 and Michael Jonathan Hewson, 28, fronted Narrabri Local Court on Wednesday.
Phillips was fined $1700, sentenced to a nine-month community corrections order and had his knives, GPS collars and dog body armour confiscated.
While Hewson was fined $600, ordered to pay $500 in court costs and put on a nine-month community corrections order.
He was also required to forfeit weapons, body armour and GPS equipment to police.
The men were caught in a police stop on the Newell Highway at Edgeroi on July 27.
While speaking to the men, police saw a freshly killed feral pig in the back tray of the ute and two dogs fitted with hunting collars.

Officers then searched the ute and seized hunting equipment including a GPS unit, dog collars and three knives.
An investigation was launched after it was discovered the men had trespassed onto numerous private properties in the area.
