A Tamworth man will walk onto parole later this month after stabbing a Kmart employee in the face earlier this year.

Brendan Peter Suey pleaded guilty to reckless wounding and two counts of shoplifting, after the unprovoked attack in the shopping centre on April 14.
He was sentenced in Tamworth Local Court to 10 months' imprisonment, backdated to his April arrest. He must serve a minimum of five months in custody before he's eligible for parole.

When an employee stopped the him as he walked out, it was the police case that Suey turned on him, stabbing him in the face near the eye with a pair of scissors from the store.
The 49-year-old employee was taken to hospital for treatment and released shortly after.
Suey fled and was arrested in Fitzroy Plaza just minutes later. He's been in custody since the stabbing.
He was convicted of both counts of shoplifting, without further penalty.
After time served, Suey will be released later this month.
