This year the event will once again start and finish in Tamworth before moving on to another location next year, and top dog Dave Doherty said the move away from Newcastle has done wonders for participation.
"Last year was the first to not be based around Newcastle and we had 63 riders, and this year we are expecting even more," he said.
"There is 12 riders from Tamworth alone, as well as plenty from Armidale, and all over the state."

First National have been major sponsors of the event for several years, and have this year entered a First National team, to ride alongside the Tamworth Dogs.
Craig Orvad is a postie dash "virgin", and after years of listening to Mr Doherty talk a big game regarding the ride, decided to mount up and get involved.
"I have heard all about it for years, so this year I just thought why not give it a go," he said.
"I a really looking forward to hitting the road, and it is for a great cause."
To enter the Variety Postie Dash riders must raise at least $2000 each for the charity, with every dollar going towards disadvantaged kids, as the postie dashers drop in to several schools and communities along the way with gifts and grants.
This year the dash will leave Tamworth on November 2, and criss-cross their way up the great dividing range, over the Queensland border and back to Tamworth a week later.
This year the Postie Dash is expecting to raise over $100,000. Riders and teams can be sponsored via Everyday Hero.
