This is the second year the show has been held at AELEC and the committee president Greg Townsend said it was a huge community effort to get the event together in difficult climatic conditions.
Mr Townsend said the committee was trying to bring the show back to its "glory days".
He said there will be more sideshows this years, as well as the return of campdrafting competition.

"Even with the bad climatic conditions we've had, local people pulled together and pooled cattle to be able to run the campdraft," he said.
"It has been fantastic to see everyone pull together.
"It's for three days of 'let's forget about what's going on outside and come to the show and have fun'."
This year's show will run from August 30 to Father's Day, September 1.
The governor-general will attend the show as part of a broader trip to the region.
Mr Hurley spoke of the importance of supporting rural communities during the drought.
"The Tamworth show is an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the best of the region," Mr Hurley said.
"While Linda and I are delighted to be back in Tamworth, we know how tough and devastating the drought continues to be for the region.
"We can't will the rain to come, but we can demonstrate to all Australians both the strength of the community and and the best of Australian produce."
