INDIGENOUS elder Mary Raveneau Trindall will be laid to rest on Friday after her death at the age of 70 years.

Mrs Trindall is being remembered as a "wonderful woman [who] was always there for our people and our community".
She died peacefully on Friday of last week and is survived by her children, their families, and the many younger people in the Tamworth and wider area to whom she was a beloved aunty.
Friends, relatives, colleagues and acquaintances have shared their grief on social media in the days since.

Volunteers with Cornerstone Community Kitchen wrote that Mrs Trindall was "extremely instrumental in the organisation and formatting of the Cornerstone Community Kitchen and was steadfast in her friendships".
They stated the kitchen would "take pause this week in her memory".
"Our services, in its stead, will be offered to her grieving family."
Jillian Knox wrote: "I'm so grateful for having a beautiful caring and loving Aunt Mary like you. I will cherish our special memories."
Sonia Kliendienst wrote that Mrs Trindall was "a beautiful, amazing woman who was well-known throughout the community".
"[She] had a soulful aura ... and had a smile that was so contagious."
Rosie McGrady wrote: "Rest with the ancestors Aunt."

Mrs Trindall will be farewelled at St John Anglican Church in Carthage St, at 11am on Friday, then laid to rest at the Showground Road lawn cemetery.
