The council recently voted to purchase a block of land in the Gidley area at its last meeting which could become the site for a food and green waste facility.
Concerned community members will have a chance to get some more information on the proposal with a meeting scheduled for this Thursday at 5.30pm at the community centre on Darling Street.

Tamworth Regional Council's plan for an organic recycling plant has already been delayed by about two years, after issues arose with the previously picked location on Wallamore Road, near the airport.
Nearby residents were fearful of a biosecurity fallout while neighbours near the new site have flagged concerns about contamination of the local groundwater supplies.
If the facility eventually goes ahead, it's planned to process about about 23,000 tones of organic waste per year.
