Liverpool Plains shire residents will soon be able to use a new water dispensing outlet located in Quirindi.
The water is potable, but those carting water for drinking from the facility must be accredited with the council.
Liverpool Plain Shire Council's (LPSC) water services manager Rod Batterham said the facility was designed to "drive in-and-out and no backing is required for larger vehicles".
"The dedicated filling area is located off street and will be sign posted from the Kamilaroi Highway with entry via South Street to the industrial subdivision," Mr Batterham said.

LPSC mayor Andrew Hope said the community was grateful for the funding for the project.
"This investment is an invaluable asset, particularly during periods such as the current severe drought, to facilitate supply of water to people who desperately need it," Cr Hope said.
The $106,475 funding for the project came from the federal government's Drought Communities Program.
The building of the outlet, located in Quirindi's Clarke Street, is now finished, and is expected to be up and running by the end of July after the pavement has had time to "cure".
The new outlet has the ability to facilitate vehicles of all sizes, from small cars to caravans, and provides two filling options - high volume and low volume flow.
