The couple bought Farmer Bob's Fruit Market at Brewery Lane four years ago and are now finalists in the 2019 Fresh Awards.
A move to diversify business into a more significant Asian range has been met with positivity from shoppers, Mrs North said.
"We went into that Asian market because we felt it was a demographic missing here, so it's more multicultural at the shop which is nice," she said.

"For us it's about a more personalised service, we find if customers are after something in particular they can talk to us directly compared to some of the bigger chains.
"People are sick of being a number and prefer that experience."
The pair have been nominated in the Greengrocer Service Excellence category and will compete against two others for the title.
Sourcing local produce or Australian made at the least is one of the ethos' of the couple's shop.

And, they couldn't have done it without the team behind them, Mrs North said.
"We were chuffed, it's always nice to be recognised and to know you're on the right page being nominated as a finalist," she said.
The awards are presented July 24.
