OXLEY High School recently put in a top effort at the Northern NSW Futsal Championships at Coffs Harbour taking home titles at under-14 and under-16 level.

Entering two under-16 teams and an under-14 team, the 17-strong squad put in a strong performance in the opening round with the under-14 team claiming a 4-1 win over Bishop Druitt College.
Meanwhile, the under-16 red team also began their campaign with a win over Bishop Druitt College, while the under-16 blue team claimed an 8-1 win against Woodenbong Central School.
The second round saw the under-16 blue team lose its first game of the tournament, going down 3-2 to a strong Bellingen High School.

However, the second round was far more successful for the under-14 team, which defeated Bellingen's under-13 side 7-0, while the under-16 red team claimed an emphatic 12-0 win over Woodenbong Central School.
In the fourth round, the under-14 redeemed themselves after their loss against Bellingen, winning 5-0 against Woodenbong Central School, meaning the side was headed for the semi-finals.
However, the under-16 blue side went 5-2 against Bishop Druitt College, while the red team held strong against Bellingen winning 4-2.
Playing for a spot in the semi-finals, the red team came out strong winning their final round match 5-1, meaning the side went into to the semi-finals undefeated.
However, the final round was the end of the line for the blue side after it lost 16's 4-0 against Bellingen and missed a semi-final berth by one point.
In the semi-finals both teams went out strong coming out on top in two tight encounters.
Having progressed into the finals, the under-14 team proved too strong for Bellingen's under-14 side, running out 3-1 winners.
The under-16 side also came up against Bellingen and claimed a 2-1 win.
The squad's co-coach Heath Pett said the entire school was proud of the effort shown by the entire squad.
"The girls played so well throughout the whole tournament," Pett said.
"We had two of three teams take out the whole tournament, which is a fantastic effort.
"Last year was a successful one for us at these championships and it is really good to keep that going.
"Honestly, the girls were just sensational."
