Carinya sports co-ordinator Charles Bickersteth told the Leader his side "never gave up".
"At the end of the day St Pius has probably played more games together than we have and that was the difference I think," Bickersteth said.
"All of our guys had a really great time and in the end that's what really counts."

"As far as playing as a team goes that is pretty much it for us," Bickersteth said.
"Pretty much all of our guys play club soccer locally, so that will still continue.
"As well as that, we have the annual students v teachers match coming up in term three to look forward to."
