What do you do for a living?
Currently the co-owner of a shop: Boobooks. Prior to that working in the health care industry. Mostly as a registered nurse.
How long have you lived in the New England electorate?
Just under 10 years. Married into a family with five generations in the Armidale region.
What is the best part of living in the New England electorate?
The beauty of New England, the people and the climate.
Why are you running for the federal seat of New England?
Realisation that the courage, determination and can-do attitude of people in this region is disregarded by the National Party resulting in neglect of important issues.
Why are you qualified to be the elected member for New England?
My entire adult working life has been outside politics while raising a family. I know firsthand about successfully overcoming challenges while doing this.
In your opinion, what are the most pressing issues facing the New England electorate?
Youth unemployment, one area in which we have top ranking. Decline and closure of businesses. Mobile blackspots, poor access to the internet. Decimation of TAFE. To name but a few.
What is your message to the voters?
Though, I stand as a Labor candidate, openly declaring my political values, and offering the support of a party with stability and well thought out policies, my first priority will always be fighting for the people of New England. We need a new direction.
