The club's committee will meet to discuss the possibility of sitting this season out with a final decision to be made by Wednesday.
AFL North West community football manger Paul Taylor told the Leader he was hopeful the club would field a side this season.
"From what I understand, the Eagles had four players go down with season-ending knee injuries at the Crossroads Cup," Taylor said.
"That has put a pretty heavy strain on their list and so their committee will come together to discuss whether fielding a team this season is a possibility or not.
"Obviously, we would love for them to field a team and help continue to grow the game."

Taylor said AFL North West would form a plan to potentially reshuffle the season's fixture after the Eagles make their decision.
"While it isn't ideal for this to be happening in the week leading up to round one there is still time for us to make changes if needs be," he said.
"I think the most straightforward answer if Narrabri were to pull out would be to schedule whoever has the bye to take their place on the fixture.
"It's important that if the Eagles do pull out that we find a solution because if they do sit out the season and we don't change the fixture it will be a very short season."
Taylor said the league would consider all options in restructuring the fixture should the Eagles be unable to field a team
"At the moment, there will be a 14-round season with each club playing 12 games and having two byes," he said.
"If Narrabri were to pull out and we didn't change the fixture then all the clubs would only be playing 10 matches so it is something we will have to look at.
"Time will tell but we should know what this season's fixture looks like by Thursday."
