Temperatures are expected to drop to 8 degrees on Sunday night, with parts of the region expected to get up to 40mm of rain.
"We have a cold front crossing NSW, in terms of the New England area the rainfall will be quite dependent on thunderstorm activity," Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Anita Pyne said.
"Conditions are good for it to form but I can't guarantee everyone will get rain.
"Not everyone will be treated equally."
