Moree Motorcycle Club (MMC) will be hosting the second round of King of MX NSW State qualifying on this weekend on March 2 to 3.

It’s the second year running that Moree will be hosting the event and it’s set to attract more than 250 riders to town, including current Australian Supercross champion Jay Wilson, as well as Aaron Tanti and Richie Evans.
“Other previous qualifiers, (Moree’s) Dylan and Oliver Marchand. They’ve done quite well at that event.
“Most of our club members will be attending and racing. We hope that the hard work they’ve been putting in training on the track should start to pay off for those local riders.”
It’s an event which Anderson said will be “excellent for the town.”
“We had it last year as well but we’ve got the second round of it this year, we were the last round last year. So we should get a few extra riders.”
Riders will be coming from far and wide, including the likes of Coolum Beach in Queensland and as far down as Sydney. It’s an event which Anderson says will be “excellent for the town.”
The juniors will be racing on Saturday, March 2 while the seniors and professionals will take to the track on Sunday, March 3.
The action will kick off around 8.30am each morning at the Moree Motorcross Track on Boolooroo Weir Road, where riders will have a chance to practice on the track before the races begin.
The event is free entry and there will a full canteen and amenities available at the track and there is also the option of camping at the track for $20 per night per vehicle and the gates will be open early on Friday morning.
"Just come and enjoy a bit of racing and a bit of action," Anderson said.
It's a big year ahead for the MMC after completing a brand new stadium cross track in December, which Anderson said is one of only three permanent tracks in the country.
“Motocross is an open track with a few jumps, supercross is a tight circuit with huge jumps. Stadium cross is an in between. It’s a good stepping stone, particularly for younger riders, they can transition a lot easier," Anderson said.
“We’ve still got to fine tune it and readdress it once it rains and roll it in, apply lights.
“The rest are usually built the week before whereas Moree’s is going to be permanent and hopefully we can run some major events in Moree.”
