The regional squad, and NSW Talent Squad, were named following the recent trials for the 17 and under, and 19 and under state teams to contest next April’s National Championships.
All three made it deep into the selection process with Burton and Perkins shooting for a spot in the 19\U team and McIlveen the 17/U.
The regional squad focuses solely on regional athletes, with a number identified by selectors as showing great potential during the state team trials.
It encompasses athletes from the seven regional areas in NSW; Hunter, West/Central West, Far North Coast, South Coast, Northern Inland, North Coast, Riverina.
