Fresh from being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame last week, Kasey Chambers will be the headline act at Saturday’s Forage Festival in the Armidale CBD.
The veteran entertainer, who will next year clock up two decades as a solo artist, tops a line-up which also includes Tim Rogers, Darren Hanlon, James Bennett, The Tambourine Girls and Lane Sinclair.

Over her career, Chambers has released nine solo albums, two with then husband Shane Nicholson, won 13 ARIA Awards and had a profound effect on country music, especially the rise of alt-country. Chambers earned two honours at last week’s ARIA Awards.
As well as being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, making her the youngest female artist to receive the honour, her album Campfire was named best country album.
The hall of fame induction follows her elevation to the Australian Country Music Roll of Renown at the beginning of the year – another honour where she was the youngest recipient.
The singer-songwriter, who cut her teeth in country music as the lead singer of her family group, the Dead Ringer Band while still in her teens, went on to be a groundbreaking solo artist with the release of The Captain in 1999.
It was followed by Barricades and Brickwalls, which sold half a million copies and won Album of the Year at the 2002 ARIA Awards.
“At the time, I didn’t know that I was breaking the ground that I was,” Chambers said.
“I didn’t know I was influencing (others) as much as I was, which is probably just as well, because I would have been actually quite intimidated by it and probably felt a lot more pressure.”
