MORNINGTON has secured outright points by smashing Whitehaven inside of a day at McAndrew Park.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Whitehaven were unable to stop the rot, bundled out for 79.
Matthew Hall was the best with the bat for Whitehaven posting 34, while Aidan King claimed 3-8.
Mornington made short work of their first innings chase, declaring at 1-80 after only 21 overs.
From there, things went from bad to worse for Whitehaven as Corey Matthews (4-7) ripped through the batting order and helped dismiss Whitehaven for 33.
It took Mornington less than five overs to complete the outright win with Jono Middlebrook guiding the side to an outright win with 20 not out.
In the round’s other action, Albion is in the box seat thanks to two mighty batting efforts from Ryan Cooper (99) in the first innings and Andrew Osmond (91 not out) in the second innings.
In reply to Albion’s first innings total of 156, Court House never got going, dismissed for just 64.
The match will resume with Albion sitting at 7-164 in the second innings.
