NURSES fed up with understaffing at Manilla District Hospital will take their frustrations to the streets on Saturday.
NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association members have said staffing levels at the hospital are putting patient safety at risk and are urgently calling on the government to introduce a more reliable staffing system.
The Manilla branch is pushing for a new nurse to patient ratio system in all NSW Multi-Purpose Services that would provide a guaranteed minimum ratio in every ward, on every shift.
Nurses hope to create a safer environment for patients and a clear understanding of how many patients they have to care for.
