The Rodda family will be jett setting to Honolulu after the community backed raffle and Sterling’s Star Ball eclipsed the fundraising target of $24,000.
On Saturday night almost 200 party-goers dressed as their favourite star and shimmied into the St Edwards school hall for the charity ball.
Organiser Kylie Wilson said while the night was a great success, the highlight was how deep the revellers dug for the charity auction items.
A two night stay at a B&B in Orange went for $1850, while a similar stays at Mooloolaba and Bali went for around $1500.

“All prizes were donated at no cost which was just great,” Ms Wilson said.
“We made enough to send all eight Rodda’s to Hawaii, which was our aim, and had a great night as well.”
The family have recently returned from a ten day Gold Coast trip courtesy of the Kyle and Jackie O radio show, where Sterling was able to ride a rollercoaster, meet, but not quite swim, with dolphins as well as a few other items on the list.
“There has been a lot of community spirit shown, and I know the Rodda’s have been very humbled by it,” Ms Wilson said.
“We are going to keep the Sterling’s Wishlist page going as support keeps coming in, and we are also looking to host an all day hockey day early next year on Rare Disease’s Day that will be a family event.
“Hopefully we can raise enough money so Sterling can see snow.”
