William Meyers started Calrossy’s scoring and continued with two more baskets before Archie Cudmore swished a nice three. Sam Brabrook came in with a two pointer before Meyers scored another three in a row.
Dennis Clarke put Manilla’s first points on the board and doubled with another two before Dylan Walker made his mark. Zac McNeill and Adam Stackman added two points each for Manilla before the basket seemed to deflect all comers.
Throws that were heading in the right direction weren’t able to make the grade and bounced off to be gathered up by the opposition.
Calrossy made the most of this anomaly and were able to rocket the ball to their half and keep their score rising. Some nice defence by the Trail Blazers led to a three from Harry Tuffrey. Sam Brabrook and William Meyers both scored again with Rowan Meyers joining them on the board for a very respectable 29 point half time score.
Both of the teams were playing with no subs and the time out with seven minutes left in the half was well received. Manilla came back after the short break and the baskets started dropping for them.
A nice behind-the-back pass by Dylan Walker gave Billy Keaton a successful two pointer.
Walker scored his own basket before Zac McNeill was able to snatch back a certain out with an amazing stretch in a move that led to him scoring a three.
McNeill potted a two before finishing Manilla in the lead on 30 with a three just before half time.
The teams were each showing their skills with neither making many mistakes, passing the ball and playing as two cohesive units.
Both teams came back after half time hungry for points and showed strong defence that kept the lead se-sawing between them. Perhaps the representative coaches on the sidelines encouraged the young men to showcase their skills.
Dennis Clarke started Manilla off again and Zac McNeill continued his scoring, taking turns with Billy Keaton to take them to their final score of 46.

William Meyers began the fight back from Calrossy and dominated the scoring in the second half sinking 19 points for his team.
William wasn’t the only Meyers scoring as Rowan put six of his own on the board and Archie Cudmore broke the Meyers’ monopoly with his basket. Calrossy came away with a hard earned 56-46 win.
