THE Dungowan Village Fair attracted its biggest ever crowd this year with a move away from the long weekend credited for the success, organisers said.
The fair was wedged into a swollen social weekend with Fiesta La Peel and the Gala Day for Dogs also scheduled.
Fair committee publicity officer Ron Haling said there was some trepidation hosting the Dungowan event on this new weekend, but he believed it was complemented by the other get-togethers.
He said “everything clicked” this year and the new date, the work of the committee and the input of council came together to make it the most successful yet.
Mr Haling said there were 1500 visitors on Saturday alone, excluding exhibitors.
All profits will be spent on the Dungowan recreation grounds.
