Riders taking part in this year’s Ride for the Chopper got off to an early start from Tamworth on Friday morning.
“Pedalling 450km’s over seven days is a huge commitment and we are so incredibly thankful for the support from everyone involved,” Westpac Rescue Helicopter CEO Richard Jones said.
85 riders and support crew are taking part in this year’s event.
“Now in its 18th year, the ride is one of our longest running and most successful fundraising events,” Mr Jones said.
“More than $90,000 dollars has already been raised, with every dollar going towards ensuring that the Westpac Rescue Helicopter can continue flying 24-7 as a free service to those in need.”
The ride will pass through Nundle, Ellerston, Scone, Singleton and Kurri Kurri.
