Tamworth enterprises will be heavily featured in Friday nights New England North West Business Awards in Armidale following a second successive record breaking Tamworth Quality Awards last month.
Inland Technology’s Peter Ryan scooped the pool locally, picking up both the Employer of Choice and the top gong of Outstanding Business Leader to qualify for a debut nomination at the regional awards.
He will be joined by representatives from fellow local businesses Birth Beat, Portable Horse Stables, the Telstra Shop, Forsyth’s, Roberts and Morrow, Healthwise, Konect, F45 and Runway at the Armidale Town Hall.
”There is some very good business people in the Business Leader category so it is nice to be acknowledged, and it’s an endorsement that you are on the right track which is nice too,” Mr Ryan said.
“It was a big honour and very rewarding to win the Tamworth awards, so this next step is really exciting and a great opportunity.”

While he was a first time winner of the individual category, Inland Technology have previously been named as joint winners of the Employer of Choice Award, and the reason is simple business.
“We always try and have a mix of older and younger, male and female staff and flexible work hours because it is good for us and good for the staff, and if you have happy staff you have happy customers and suppliers,” Mr Ryan said.

“People say what happens if you train-up your staff and they leave, but what happens if you don’t train your staff and they stay.”
Tamworth Business Chamber President Jye Segboer was proud to see the diversity of Tamworth businesses involved in the awards.
“The calibre of the finalists highlights the diversity, growth and calibre of businesses right across the region,” he said.
“We are extremely proud of the local winners who are finalists in nine categories, and wish them the best of luck.”
The Regional Business Awards come off the back of local awards right across the state, with winners of Friday’s awards given the chance to showcase their talents and products at the NSW Awards later in the year.
NSW Business Chamber regional manager Joe Townsend said this year’s Regional Awards showcase excellence from Guyra, Gunnedah, Inverell, Armidale, Tamworth, Moree and Tenterfield, and everywhere in between.
“These awards provide an exceptional opportunity to celebrate excellence in the local business community, and judging by the caliber of finalists I am confident that the region will again excel at the 2018 State Awards in Sydney,” he said.
