Trist Constructions took home two awards for its renovation of 162 Marius Street. Richard Trist said winning the award was one of the most pleasing moments of his 20-year construction career.
“We had very little space and room to move, so building it that confined area was a logistical nightmare,” he said.
“My mother passed away in March last year while we were doing it and that made it very difficult.
“To win after all that time and heartache was very satisfying.”
G.J Gardner Homes took out two awards, including Project Home of the Year, and was a finalist for another two.
The judge’s said the house was “a real standout”.
“Very high quality workmanship throughout, fantastic layout for a family home, absolutely no faults or flaws,” the judges said.
“The interior was really done well and had that feel to it that you just want to be in the house all day long and never leave.”
Green Homes Australia took out the GreenSmarts Substantial Home award.
