The Magpies scored the first try early in the game when Magpies captain Anna Smith crossed near the posts for what was the crucial moment in the 5-4 victory.
Cassidy Morley scored the lone try for Boggy in the first half to send the sides to the break with the Magpies holding the slender 5-4 advantage.
Try as both sides could in the second half neither could add to the score although both were over the line and had four-pointers waved away.
Both sides had chances in a fluctuating match summed up by Smith after the match.
“We stuck together all year,” she said.

Werris Creek coach Jason Smith was elated with the effort from his side although the closeness of recent games makes them “heart attack material”.
He had asked his side to lift “three things” heading into the grand final: Attitude, effort and execution.
“They did that, their effort was really good,” he said. “The last couple of weeks they have scraped through and had some close games.”
He also made a special point of thanking Boggabri.
“They are a very good side,” he said.
“They beat us out at Boggy and then again in the semis. They definitely turned up to play and are a credit to (Roos coach) Jason (Kemp) and Boggabri.”
Kemp was disappointed his side came so close.
“It was a good game of football,” Kemp said.
He had worked on “getting a good start to games”.
“To drop the ball from the kick-off was disappointing. We had our chances too,” he said.
Boggabri’s Cassidy Morley was named player of the match after another outstanding display.
“She tried so hard,” Kemp said of the 16-year-old fullback.
“To get the player of the match in a losing side is an outstanding effort. She has a big future.”
