SAFETY inspectors have launched an investigation after two employees were hospitalised following a crash on a property.
The two men were working on the property on Burundi Road at Barraba on Wednesday when the accident occurred.
The pair were feeding cotton seed to stock out of the back of a truck before it crashed into a tree.
A SafeWork NSW spokesperson said investigators are working to piece together what happened.
“Initial inquiries indicate the workers were hand feeding stock from the back of a truck when the vehicle they were working off collided with a tree,” the spokesperson said.
“Paramedics provided treatment to the workers, one of whom suffered chest injuries and loss of consciousness as a result of the incident.
“Both were taken to Barraba Hospital before the most seriously injured worker was transferred to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.”
SafeWork NSW said the investigation is ongoing.
