The Tamworth Thunderbolts’ state league season came to end on Saturday at the hands of eventual winners St George.
The Bolts came up against the top ranked northern division team after beating Lithgow Lazers in the qualifying final 92-91 the week prior.
Tamworth started strong and kicked out to a 9-2 lead in the first quarter before momentum swung back in St George’s favour.

The Saints took the lead and went up by seven points with two minutes left on the clock before quarter time.
But the Bolts completed the topsy-turvy opening term to see the score read 20-all at the first break.
The next two quarters were St George’s as they went to an eight-point lead at half-time and then a 24-point lead at three quarter time.
The Bolts came back but it wasn’t enough as St George claimed a 96-78 win and a grand final berth.
Rashanti Harris was huge for Tamworth with 28 points in the loss while Chris Skilton was next best for the Thunderbolts with 12 points.
