In late June, at the Dooleys Junior Tour Of Sydney, Tapp had a “nasty fall” at Louisa Reserve and Tapp has only recently returned to racing.
“He knocked a bit of skin off and had a hit on the head,” a proud Bartlett said.
“He was off his bike for probably a month – maybe a bit longer – and winning that race the way he won it, I just can’t believe it.”

The youngster was sitting at the front of the pack in the criterium when the action started to unfold.
The call of “up” was made to notify other contestants that a racer was going on the attack.
Tapp went with him for a lap before the attacker dropped off.
The Tamworth Cycle Club member then kicked on with his sprint – which went for another two laps – to claim the win.
It left Tapp feeling “very tired” but ultimately incredibly happy.
“It felt quite good with it being a state event,” Tapp said.
“Being able to get a chance to get a medal from it felt quite good.”
Josh and Luke Deasey also represented the Tamworth Cycle Club at the NSW Junior Road Championships.
Josh, in the 13s, finished 18th in his time trial and 17th in his road race while Luke, in the 17s, finished seventh in the time trial, 20th in the road race and 10th in the criterium.
Tapp also competed in the time trial (9th) and road race (17th).
