Sophie and Emily Honess have joined forces to form Fern House Workshops which hopes to reclaim skills, knowledge and push a sustainable philosophy.
This Thursday the Honess sisters will launch a trilogy of loom weaving workshops run from Yinarr Maramali’s Brisbane Street cultural centre.
While it will help people get a knack of a niche knitting craft, Emily said it was also about teaching people where products come from, reconnecting socially, revitalising tactile skills and “throwing away the throw-away culture”.
Bookings for the courses can be made at 0423 364 286 or via email at sophie.r.honess@gmail.com
