Members will have until August 24 to put forward their Nats’ candidate for the 2019 state election with incumbent Kevin Anderson expected to be unopposed.
The Tamworth electorate council met in Nundle on Saturday and set down September 29 as the date for pre-selection.

The party won’t be running a community pre-selection ballot as it has done in the past.
Tamworth state electorate council chairman Jim Booth didn’t believe other state candidates would get a head start on the Nats and hadn’t heard of any members wanting to challenge Mr Anderson.
“But it’s a game of politics, anything could happen,” Mr Booth said.
The Shooters, Fishers and Farmers’ Jeff Bacon is currently the only confirmed candidate for the Tamworth seat, although speculation is growing about potential Independent runners.
