Five-eighth Jamie Sampson and winger Josh Walker both pursed hat-tricks as Moree’s backs cut Quirindi apart at Quirindi on Saturday.
The Bulls backs did all the damage in the 55-8 triumph with Walker’s wing counterpart Mitchell Adams crossing for a double and fullback Kyle O’Connor also finding the tryline. On the back of their victory over Pirates the previous round and with the premiers going down to Walcha, the win puts the Bulls on top of the table.
Angus Fraser scored the Lions’ lone try, giving the home fans something to cheer about in the second half with the Bulls ahead 27-3 at half-time.
Narrabri incidentally led by the same scoreline at the break in their clash with Scone at Dangar Park.
The Blue Boars kicked on to take the points 51-8 but it wasn’t enough for them to force their way into the four with Walcha holding them out on wins.
Returning from injury breakaway Matt McDonnell was the only multiple try-scorer with the Blue Boars sharing the spoils around.
