Showjumping is back, the pavilion ladies are out in the fray, the woodchoppers chopping, camel rides and Stockman’s Challenge are just the beginning.
In an added bonus, the first Tamworth Show at the new location coincides with the tenth birthday of the AELEC P&A president Greg Townsend said.
“It’s been challenging and will be challenging, no doubt there will be some mistakes we make but coming to a clean, great venue like this makes the job a fair bit easier,” he said.
“It’s been overwhelming the amount of events that are now back at the Tamworth Show, we haven’t seen showjumping at the show for four or five years – it’s all together now.”
Fireworks will crack off on both nights, while inside dairy goats entertain the kids and more traders than ever showcase their goods.
In the arena, four horse events can take place at once and with minimal dust the new home is far more family friendly.

Mr Townsend said working with AELEC manager Mike Rowland has helped with event management.
“For anyone going along to the Tamworth show it’s going to be a brand new experience, and it’s a brand new experience for us all,” he said.
“It opens opportunities for new traders, some who’ve never had the opportunity to show their wares have approached us to come, that’s been the big benefit.
“If this had of happened ten years ago I don’t think it would have had the impact it’s having now because the AELEC has evolved not just for equine but for events.”
Mr Rowland said the partnership will drive new faces to the $32 million facility, even though the plan was always to host the show at AELEC.
“This opens up a whole new audience for AELEC, there’d be plenty of people in this region that haven’t been here in the ten years we’ve been open,” he said.
“And for this to happen on the eve of our birthday is just the best.”
