GROUP 4 will review its “season of compromise” and look to the future when it holds a board meeting and then a general meeting with all clubs in Gunnedah on Saturday morning.
At the end of the first round, Group 4 chairman Ray McCoy said it is the right time “to get the clubs together and review the first round of the competition”.
The 2019 draw will be presented at the meeting.
McCoy said: “We’ve always said this [the revamp] is a two-year process. This will be an open forum for all the clubs.”
He said items for discussion include the under-18 competition, which has expanded from four teams to six in 2018, as well as the possibility of a two-tier ladies league tag competition, running a nines pre-season gala event next year to honour North Tamworth legend Jack Woolaston and staging the Greater Northern Championships in Group 4 next Easter.
McCoy said that staging a seniors open carnival on the June long weekend next year is also a possibility.
