Northwest Church convert bowling all on Anne Street, Tamworth

The church lodged a development application with Tamworth Regional Council for a $200,000 fit out, so the building can seat up to 350 people in an auditorium.

The church’s current building, on the neighbouring block, will become a youth and kids’ facility.

Pastor Bron Bonnell said the auditorium was at capacity for most Sunday morning services.

“Everyone is a vital part of the make up of the church, and we don't want people to think they aren't a valued part of the church,” she said.

“We have a lot of community groups that use our building and we want to continue that, and keep our community-friendly focus.

“Our vision is to be a church for the city, not a church in the city.

“This expansion works in conjunction with that vision, and we want groups to come and use the buildings,” Pastor Bonnell said.
