Local Group 19 sides are ready to kick back into gear for the remainder of the season after a week’s rest due to the long weekend.
The toughest road trip in first division beckons for the Armidale Rams when they head to Moree to play the second-placed Boomerangs in all grades while Narwan have the bye.
Uralla will head to Bingara for their second division clash with the Bullets after securing wins in both the league tag and the men’s in their last start against the Guyra Super Spuds.
The Guyra teams will head to Walcha and are eager to get back to their winning ways.
Prior to the clash against the Tigers, the Spuds had found form by knocking off Warialda and Tenterfield.
Against Uralla, Spuds player-coach Anthony Dittman said it was a below-par performance by his team and they have to be back at their best this Sunday to beat the Roos.
“We have a lot of potential, we just have to put it together,” he said.
“We've got a well balanced team so if the forwards have a big game we can play off the back of that.”
In the league tag, the Spudettes face the second-placed Jillaroos team.
After putting in their best performance of the season against Uralla, the Guyra side are aiming to take the wind out of Walcha’s sails.
“It should be a good game this week,” coach Graham Smith said.
“We just need to put the same effort in that we did against Uralla. We only had one sub and they probably had six or seven on the bench. I was happy with the effort they put in and it was only towards the end they got away from us.”
