Pirates’ juniors are set to profit from the starring efforts of former product Mick Snowden on the weekend.

The Eastwood captain’s man of the match performance in their 32-29 Shute Shield win over fellow Pirate product Paddy Ryan’s unbeaten Sydney University side on Saturday earned the half-back $500, which he is donating to his former club.
Thankful for the donation, Pirates president Stuart Prowse said the club will “likely put it towards our junior development given Snowy is a good example of where the junior rugby club can lead to”.
Snowden, who made his Waratahs debut in March, produced a strong allround performance.
Via his boot, he found some crucial territory for his side and generally marshaled them well in attack. He also pulled off some big tackles - one notable one early in the second half forcing a crucial turnover, and delivered a pin-point pass to Fabian Goodall for Eastwood’s second try, which restored their two try lead late in the first half.
The win puts the Woodies fourth, the bonus point Uni secured seeing them retain top spot heading into the long weekend bye.
