North West went unbeaten on day one and two of the carnival to move through to the final.
Coming up against the Sydney North East side in the final, North West went down 32-17.
Team manager Michael Parker said the heavy workload took its toll on the Kylie Dawson-coached side.
“The boys played very well but I think the three days of rugby was starting to tell with the soreness and the stiffness,” Parker said.
“The boys played with great tenacity, never gave up, were physical and competitive right to the end.
“Kylie Dawson was extremely happy with all the individual performances and the team played extremely well together.”
Isaac Devine was named North West’s player of the tournament with a big three days.
“He was outstanding,” Parker said.
“He was clearly one of our better players in the final and yesterday [Thursday].
“He played well on the first day as well but he improved as the carnival went on.”
