The New Zealand native is not only playing for her adopted school but has also been snapped up by a local women’s club and the Tamworth Frogs.
This weekend Davis will head to Grafton to represent the Tamworth under-15 B’s side at the State Championships.
“It’s going to be fun,” she said of the weekend.
She is also playing for Olympians first and second grade in the local women’s competition and for the Calrossy 1s and 2s in the local high school competition.
It’s keeping her pretty busy.
Rattling through the her week, Tuesday is the only day Davis doesn’t have games or training.
Not that she is complaining. She is having a ball.
Hailing from Waikanae in the Wellington region, Davis is here for two months as part of a Rotary exchange program.
Seeing the advertisement on a newsletter she thought it sounded like an exciting opportunity.
She is living with Tahlia Barwick and her family during her stay.
The two share similar interests.
“Tahlia and I both do hockey and we’re both into speech stuff,” Davis said.
Davis said it was “pretty nerve-racking” at the start but the girls have really welcomed her.
She has been playing hockey since she was about 10-years old.
A striker/midfielder, back in New Zealand Davis plays for her school (Paraparaumu) and also in the local women’s competition, which she said is probably of a similar standard to Tamworth.
She is also a talented netballer and is playing with the Calrossy boarder team.
