Moree on a Plate served up a culinary storm on Saturday as it showcased some of the best, home-grown and home-produced foods in the region.

Hundreds of locals flooded through the school gates of Moree Secondary College on Albert Street to catch a taste and glimpse of the finest display of culinary art.
Tar10’s Annabelle Simpson and Melanie Collingwood-Boots brought the taste of the Hunter Valley with them as they put on a plate sticky figs, fresh fruit vinegars, mayonnaise and chutney.
“I won’t tell you what else we have at the stall today, otherwise you’ll be here all day,” Melanie laughed.
They were one of more than 50 regional producers who brought their goodies for Moree to taste.
Celebrity guest chef Ben O’Donoghue’s cooking demonstration was a hit with locals, as the seasoned chef lifted the lid on some of the simplest but most delicious haute cuisine.
The ever-popular Blokes on a BBQ Challenge saw some of Moree’s best unsung chefs go head-to-dead in a cut-throat cook-off to decide who would be the crowned the 2018 BBQ Kings.
Five teams battled it out, but this year's honours went to Alistair Spring and Paul Osborn, while Liam McCormick and Sam Harris won over the crowd, winning 2018 People’s Choice award.
Live puppet George the Farmer entertained the children with his whimsy that comprised of a book reading session, and dance and sing-a-long.
The Kids Korner was packed for the majority of the day, as the youngest members of the crowd enjoyed the free fun on offer including a jumping castle, face painting, photo booth and more.
