The Tamworth Swans’ fairytale run came to abrupt halt at the hands of defending premiers Gunnedah. The Bulldogs kicked 10 goals in the first quarter and finished with 30 as they thrashed the Swans.
Inverell Saints were too good for the Tamworth Kangaroos in Tamworth taking the points 26-14.175 to 11-7.73. The Saints were also triumphant in the women’s clash 5-7.37 to 3-0.18.

Earlier in the day Pirates made it five from five with a 41-5 victory over Scone.
In the other first grade results Moree upset Walcha 32-30 and Narrabri defeated Barraba/Gwydir 54-20.

Naran Singh kicked Demon Knights into the fifth round with a golden extra-time strike against Goonellabah FC.
Both sides were goalless through the 90 minutes forcing the game into extra-time.
Demon Knights now play Port United at 10am on Sunday morning.
Tamworth FC are however headed home after a 3-1 loss to Bangalow.
The two sides went into half-time with scores locked at 1-all, but two unanswered goals in the second half secured Bangalow a spot in the next round.
NORTHERN INLAND PREMIER LEAGUE
Oxley Vale Attunga prevailed over North Companions 2-1 in first grade, Luke Purcell and James Bailey finding the back of the net for the Mushies.
The Mushies also got up in reserve grade 2-nil.
