
Women golfers from throughout the North West teed up in Gunnedah on Sunday for the Can Assist Charity Golf Day.
The Gunnedah Women’s Open Fourball Stableford event raised funds for the community based charity which supports country NSW people and their families affected by cancer.
Marge Clift from Can Assist thanked all those present for supporting such a worthy cause.

The Werris Creek pairing of Jenny Fisher and Jan Moore took out the top honours with a score of 43.
Just behind the Werris Creek pair was a Gunnedah duo.
Coral Lorimer and Caroline Anderson finished just one shot off the pace to take out second spot with a score of 42.
The winners of the 18 hole fourball scratch were Michelle Johnston (Gunnedah) and Jane McWhirter (Tamworth) with a score of 27.
Once again a Gunnedah duo came in second just one shot off the leaders.
Taryn Maher and Fay Hausfeld were runners up with a score of 26.
Ros Sadler and Leslie Jeffries (Tamworth) won holes one-nine fourball stableford with a score of 21.
Just one shot back were Helen Baker and Mary Gregson (Gunnedah) who claimed second place with a score of 20.
The Werris Creek pairing of Bev Sawtell and Marie Curran won the holes 10-18 fourball stableford.
They found their rhythm and finished with a score of 21.
Runners up were Marge Clift and Judy Lamb (Gunnedah) with a score of 20.
In the nearest to pins at the event, Robin Traynor (Boggabri) and Taryn Maher (Gunnedah) both claimed prizes.
Traynor was nearest to the the pin on the second hole and Maher was closest on the seventh.
Best second shot to the third hole was Narelle Dunst (Tamworth).
Longest drive accolades across the three divisions went to Taryn Maher (Division One, Gunnedah) Sue Tailby (Division Two) and Caroline Anderson (Division Three, Gunnedah).
