“I think it was one of our best – if not the best – we’ve had in some time,” Munn said.
“The turnout of dogs over the whole carnival and the turnout of patrons on Saturday [for the Tamworth Cup final] was probably the biggest we’ve had.”
The club had some new sponsors come on board in 2018 which saw more money on offer for the cup carnival.
Munn said the extra sponsorship helped with the carnival’s success.
“The extra money we had on offer probably attracted a few more people – that always helps,” he said.
The Mikeloren Patisserie Tamworth Cup Final was won by Charles Northfield’s greyhound Spare Cash.
In a thrilling finish, Spare Cash beat Robert Green’s Queen Reen by a head to claim the $3000 top prize. Tamworth’s next meeting is scheduled for June 16.
