The Oxley Probus Club is all about friendship and fun, and those attributes were on full display on Tuesday as the organisation raised a glass to celebrate 25 years.
The community centre was packed to the brim with members for the occasion, including the only two active foundation members Joyce Wood and Dawn Lockhart.
“I love it – it is all about friendship, fellowship and outings together,” Ms Wood said.
Ms Lockhart has been proud to watch the club, that her husband helped form out of the North Tamworth Rotary Club, grow from the 14 foundation members to the more than 80 members they boast today.

“Nice to see the club is remaining strong, although it would be nice to get some retired younger members in as well,” Ms Lockhart said.
President Allan Guan said that the social side is what the club is all about.
“We don’t raise funds or anything like that, we are purely a social club,” he said.
On Tuesday the club held their usual meeting, where they have a guest speaker every month, before celebrating the quarter century with champagne, coffee and cake.
This month, Lucy Haslam was special guest, and told the audience about how the tragic loss of her son Dan to bowel cancer in 2015 set her on the course of campaigning for medicinal cannabis.
