GROUP 4 officials have had to reverse an on-field result.
Woodleys Isuzu Ute Group 4 chairman Ray McCoy advised last Sunday’s second grade result between Narrabri and Gunnedah has been changed.
Originally Gunnedah were 26-20 winners of a game at Kitchener Park which had been stopped twice for long injury layoffs.
It was only after the game that McCoy, who was also the ground announcer, found that according to CRL rules there is no time off for injury in second grade games.
“I checked with Tony Hardy (Group 4 Referees Association president) and found under the CRL rules there is no time off for injury in second grade matches,” McCoy said.
“The match committee met on Monday and we reversed the result.”
Narrabri led 20-14 at the time of the first bad injury so it was decided that was the final result, making it a better first round for the Blues, who lost the Dallas Donnelly Memorial Cup game to Gunnedah 56-20.
