DRAMATIC dash cam footage has emerged of the moments before a head-on crash in Tamworth that seriously injured a woman.
Police confirmed on Friday a 65-year-old woman, seriously injured in the April 20 crash, had been in an induced coma but was no longer in intensive care.
She remains in hospital in a serious condition with internal injuries and a leg frature.
The footage, captured by a camera in the car travelling in front of the Holden Cruz, shows a Nissan X-trail in the parking lane on the wrong side of Scott Road, just before it collides with a Holden Cruz.
The Nissan driver, a 48-year-old Tamworth man, was injured but was released from hospital on Monday.
Tamworth police, together with officers from the Oxley Crash Investigation Unit, are investigating the cause of the crash.
Police have interviewed witnesses and are investigating whether a medical condition could have contributed to the crash.
No charges have been laid and investigations continue.
